The SCM820 from Shure is an 8-channel digital automatic mixer designed for use in speech applications, including sound reinforcement, broadcast and recording. It uses IntelliMix technology to dramatically improve audio quality in any application that requires operating multiple microphone channels simultaneously.

Multiple input and output configurations and networking options ensure analog and digital connectivity between devices.

IntelliMix Technology
  • Delivers seamless automatic mixing and outside noise reduction through dynamic channel attenuation and containment
  • NAT (Noise Adaptive Threshold) Noise Adaptive Threshold continuously adjusts the contention threshold to open a channel
  • Number of Open Microphones Attenuated (NOMA) determines the amount of gain attenuation for a mix output when the number of microphones changes
  • Last Microphone Lock-On (LMLO) keeps the most recently activated microphone open until a new microphone is activated
  • MaxBus ensures only one open microphone per sound source, reducing comb filtering and increasing speech clarity and intelligibility
  • IntelliMix Setup Modes offer five different mixer setup styles (Classic, Soft/Smooth, Extreme, Custom or Manual) to quickly customize the mix for a particular application
Optimized input and output support for greater flexibility and digital connectivity in more critical applications
  • DB25 or block connector models available, logically enabled, with eight inputs each
  • Direct outputs per channel, for use as an insert in the mixing console or in recordings
  • Mix outputs A and B with selectable mic or line level, connect to a sound reinforcement system, mixing console or recording devices
  • The dual-operation mixer enables independent automatic mix routing to mix outputs A and B, allowing two completely different mixes to originate from one set of inputs.
  • Auxiliary inputs on the front panel and rear panel easily connect to media players
  • ¼” (6.35 mm) stereo headphone output for single channel and mix monitoring
Comprehensive Control
  • Channel control buttons allow quick adjustment of gain, limiter and EQ positions, and solo/mute functions on input channels
  • Output mix controls and meters enable front panel master gain and limiter control as well as signal monitoring
  • LED meter rings show input audio or IntelliMix gain levels for each channel
  • Browser-based control function provides comprehensive software control, monitoring, routing and configuration of all signals and positions and adds an 8-band parametric equalizer
Advanced Network
  • Standard Ethernet or network-connected Dante™ digital audio configurations are available
  • Dante-enabled models allow multiple audio channels working over the network over Ethernet
  • Dante upgrade card is available on standard Ethernet models
  • Interconnect Dante-equipped SCM820s to form large automatic mixes of up to 12 units (96 audio channels)
