Shure Music Kit Pro, music at the highest level.

In 2012, a suitcase with high-level professional microphone solutions for a wide variety of applications was launched and has enjoyed great success to date. Your name? Shure Music Kit Pro, and León Soriano, from the Senior Market Development area, was part of the history of this great product, as he himself mentions: “This suitcase was thought of as a professional solution with the best microphones for the most common needs. from a rental company, a production company, a recording studio, a forum, an event or band hall. It was created taking into account the musical genres most commonly worked with in Mexico, such as pop, norteño, ballads, reggae, versatile music groups, in religious temples and small mariachis, among others. “This is how we came to form this input list of 16 professional microphones in a suitcase.”
“The models in the Music Kit Pro are: Beta 52 , for low frequency response; a Beta 91 , for low frequency response or where a microphone can fit; two SM57 , which are Shure's most versatile microphones for snare or guitar amps; three Beta 98 Amp for toms, congas, bongos, winds and strings; two KSM 137 for overheads, choral sections, strings and vocals in the studio; two Beta 181 , which is a new multipurpose product that can be put on guitar amps, kick drums, vocals, backs, overheads and more; a SM58 , the classic for voice; a Beta 58 , in case there is a second voice; a Beta 27 , which is a large-diaphragm, side-collection multipurpose; a Beta 57 which is a wild card and finally a SM137 for cymbals, overheads and sections,” he explains.
“In this way we offer a solution for miking drums, bass, guitar or two guitars, voice, a choir, percussions, sections – if any – or a violin, a trumpet or a string in a professional level setting. The kit also includes three clamps, which are the A75M , for the Beta 98 Amp. One of the most important values is the finish of the suitcase – which is a gift. We wanted a suitcase that had the shape of the microphones that make it up, so we developed it with a friendly company from Audio Representations and made several designs for the arrangement of the microphones until we reached the final one. We called it Music Kit Pro and when it arrived at the company, there was a very good response. The suitcase has a very interesting branding and also includes the description of each microphone as a kind of user guide so that the user knows how to use each one.”
“At the beginning of the production of the Music Kit Pro, fifty suitcases were ordered and now it is a standard,” León mentions. “People know it very well, since a solution was achieved that solves an important market need. It was relaunched at sound:check Xpo 2022 with a change of look and we gave more value to the design made by Representaciones de Audio, since together with the Wireless Portable Rack, this suitcase is a product designed by the company.”
For the near future, Representaciones de Audio has other similar solutions: “It is a professional solution for drummers that will include everything they dream of, in addition to another one that is for choral sections, of
strings and breaths designed for symphony and philharmonic orchestras, houses of worship, music schools and conservatories,” León mentions.
The design of this type of product involves a process that takes time: “It is necessary to think very well about the way to integrate the equipment in a box, because it is about thinking about the application of the products, so you have to justify its value, the markets it goes to, how much it will cost, who can sell it and how, what the sales channels are and even the promotional materials. You have to think about all this to develop a solution like this and I think what helps is the time we have been in the professional audio industry to be able to do them well. And from the perspective of a rental company, it is much easier for a suitcase to appear in the inventory than for a whole series of microphones that have to be registered separately,” León concludes.
Music Kit Pro will remain standard because it covers a requirement with high-quality microphones. Audio professionals can be sure that it will continue to be an ally at all times, facilitating their work and strengthening their passion for sound work.
